HYMNBOOKS AND SERVICE SHEETS are available if needed please ask one of the
welcomers.
CRECHE A supervised
creche is available for babies and toddlers and there are also pew bags of soft toys to
take into the Church. Please ask one of the welcomers

after the service. Please stay and have a chat.

lights are available in the side chapel. If you wish to light one as a prayer for yourself
or another, perhaps during communion, please do so.

APPEAL The total so far, including pledges and tax recoverable, stands at £34,000.
Thank you to those who have already given. Please continue to keep the project in your
prayers. Please pray particularly for the trustees of the All Churches Trust as they
consider our preliminary application. Joyce Ogden has kindly agreed to be the co-ordinator
for Church fund-raising events. Please talk to her about any ideas you may have. Two ideas
that need your help firstly please let Joyce have your favourite recipes for a St.
Johns cookbook being prepared for Christmas and secondly please book one or more
dates in the Diary raffle book at £1 per date please see Mona Megaw.
ROCK SOLID CLUB
for 11-14s. Monday 17th November How do I look? 7.30 9pm in
the Parish Centre. Subscription 80p.
WEDNESDAY 19TH
NOVEMBER 10am Holy Communion followed by coffee and lunches 12 noon to 1pm
BIBLE STUDY GROUP
Wednesday 19th November, 7.30pm at Jayne Lanes, 11 Bradford Road. All
welcome.

SCHOOL PTA BINGO NIGHT Thursday 20th November 6.30pm in School.
Tickets £4 each which includes pea and pie supper. Proceeds for school
building fund.

Corbett-Weaver concert (see below). This takes the place of the Vine group meeting this

MARC
CORBETT-WEAVER CONCERT This talented young musician, who played organ and piano here
at St. Johns for three years, is giving an orchestral concert at QEGS Queen
Elizabeth Hall on Sunday 23rd November 7-8pm, tickets on door £4/£2. The
programme includes Griegs piano concerto, excerpts from Hansel & Gretel by
Humperdinck and the last movement of Tchaikovskys 5th symphony. For more
details see the poster or speak to Paul Dowling.
JULIAN MEETING
for Christian contemplative prayer Tuesday 25th November 7.30pm in
Church. Anyone is welcome for a time of peace and stillness in Gods presence.
HOPE FOR HARRY
Fundraising event Thursday 27th November 7.30 12pm at The
Wardrobe, Leeds. DJ & Auction plus live band at 9pm. Tickets £10 from Alison Purdy

MENS NIGHT
at Valentino's on Leeds Road, Friday 28th November. Meet in the bar at 7pm, table for
7.30pm. Please sign up on the list at the back of Church.
CHURCH CLEANING
The Church desperately needs a clean, especially with Christmas coming. We are going to
have a blitz on the morning of Saturday 13th December from 10am, ending with a
sandwich lunch kindly prepared by Jayne Lane. Please come for as long or as little as you
can manage, armed with brushes, dusters etc. Thank you.
VIDEO PROJECTION
OPERATORS REQUIRED We would like to set up a rota of people trained to operate the
video projection system. If you would be willing to have a go, please speak to Jayne Lane
or Paul Dowling.
MARSH WAY HOUSE
A reminder that we shall be collecting Christmas presents for Marsh Way House homeless
project as usual from the beginning of Advent. Suitable gifts are hats, gloves, scarves
and toiletries. Please gift wrap them and add a tag to show if it is for a man or a woman.
Also, if anyone would be willing to go into the Scheme to teach DIY skills, please talk to
Paul Dowling. Thank you.
