LARGE PRINT HYMNBOOKS AND SERVICE SHEETS are available if needed – please ask one of the welcomers.

CRECHE A supervised creche is available for babies and toddlers and there are also pew bags of soft toys to take into the Church. Please ask one of the welcomers

COFFEE is served after the service. Please stay and have a chat.

PRAYER LIGHTS Tea lights are available in the side chapel. If you wish to light one as a prayer for yourself or another, perhaps during communion, please do so.

GIFT AID ENVELOPES are available at the back of Church to make your giving tax-efficient

TODAY – REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY

8am Holy Communion

10am Family Service of Remembrance, Thanksgiving & Prayer for Peace

7.30pm Vine Tree group meeting in Church ‘Transforming lives 1 – God who comes among us’

RE-ORDERING APPEAL The total so far, including pledges and tax recoverable, stands at £33,000. Thank you to those who have already given. Please continue to keep the project in your prayers. Please pray particularly for the trustees of the All Churches Trust as they consider our preliminary application. Joyce Ogden has kindly agreed to be the co-ordinator for Church fund-raising events. Please talk to her about any ideas you may have. Two ideas that need your help – firstly please let Joyce have your favourite recipes for a St. John’s cookbook being prepared for Christmas and secondly please book one or more dates in the ‘Diary’ raffle book at £1 per date – please see Mona Megaw.

TUESDAY TALK 11th November 1.30pm get together at Nicola Davies’ house, 4 Mountbatten Crescent, Outwood.

PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCIL meets Tuesday 11th November 7.30pm in Church. PCC members please pick up your papers from the back of Church.

WEDNESDAY 12TH NOVEMBER 10am Holy Communion followed by coffee and lunches 12 noon to 1pm

DISCIPLESHIP GROUP Wednesday 12th November, 7.30pm at the Vicarage, 65 Bradford Road. Please note this takes the place of the Bible Study group this week.

SUNDAY 16TH NOVEMBER – SECOND SUNDAY BEFORE ADVENT

8am Holy Communion

10am Parish Communion with laying on of hands (Readings 1 Thessalonians 5: 1-11, Matthew 25: 14-30).

CHURCH MAGAZINE The November issue is now available, price 50p. Please pick up a copy from the back of Church.

CHURCH DIARIES 2009 These are now available, price £2, in the Church porch.

MARC CORBETT-WEAVER CONCERT This talented young musician, who played organ and piano here at St. John’s for three years, is giving an orchestral concert at QEGS Queen Elizabeth Hall on Sunday 23rd November 7-8pm, tickets on door £4/£2. The programme includes Grieg’s piano concerto, excerpts from Hansel & Gretel by Humperdinck and the last movement of Tchaikovsky’s 5th symphony. For more details see the poster or speak to Paul Dowling.

MARSH WAY HOUSE A reminder that we shall be collecting Christmas presents for Marsh Way House homeless project as usual from the beginning of Advent. Suitable gifts are hats, gloves, scarves and toiletries. Please gift wrap them and add a tag to show if it is for a man or a woman. Also, if anyone would be willing to go into the Scheme to teach DIY skills, please talk to Paul Dowling. Thank you.

CHRISTMAS COFFEE MORNING Saturday 6th December 10am – 12noon in St. John’s School, Belgravia Road. Boxes are now in the Church Reception Room for raffle and tombola prizes and items for sale. Any suggestions for further stalls are welcome. Enquiries to George & Joan Mitchell on 257088.
