Christenings

If you live in the parish of St. John’s CLICK HERE TO SEE PARISH MAP or attend worship here regularly, we would be pleased to welcome you and your child for baptism or christening – it’s another name for the same thing. the parish is the area on the map within the red border and highlighted in pink.

Baptisms take place in the 10am Sunday morning service, normally on the second Sunday of the month. Baptism requires a clear Christian commitment on the part of the parents and godparents and also a promise to bring your child to Church regularly.

If you don’t feel able to make that commitment, why not think about a Service of Thanksgiving instead where you thank God for your child and he or she is blessed by the Vicar without the need for you to say anything you don’t feel comfortable with. This service can be done in Church or in another place of your choosing – at home or in a pub or club, for instance. In either case, to find out more please contact:
