Paul has been Vicar since 1994. After a previous career as an accountant working in the oil industry, he trained for the ministry at Cranmer Hall in Durham and was ordained in 1990. He served his curacy at St. John’s Redhill in Surrey before moving to Wakefield. He is married to Marjorie and has two grown up children. He enjoys walking and windsurfing, sings tenor with the Yorkshire Philharmonic choir and loves travel and languages. He believes that faith in Jesus Christ is something to be passionate about.  email

Paul has been a member of St. John’s longer than he cares to remember! For many years he has been responsible for the youth and children’s work of the Church. He trained as a Lay Reader in the 1990s and then for ordination through the Wakefield Ministry Scheme, being ordained deacon in 2007 and priest in 2008. Paul trained as a engineering draughtsman and technical author but for the last fifteen years or so he has run his own business as a decorator. He is married to Patricia and they have two adult children.  email

Assistant Minister: Prof. Roger Grainger

Roger is technically retired, but remains enormously active both within the Church and elsewhere. Roger is a man of many parts – academic, writer, psychologist, counsellor, actor and clergyman, to name but a few. He has been ordained for many years and was a professional actor before that. He has written a number of books on a variety of subjects. He is married to Doreenemail

Reader: Brian Morris

Brian joined this Church in 2007 when he and his wife, Deidre, moved to the area following his appointment as Stewardship and Resources Advisor to the Diocese of Wakefield. Brian is also the Church Treasurer. He and Deidre have two adult children. He has been a Reader since 1974, serving in parishes in the dioceses of Durham, Lichfield, Rochester, St. David’s and Gloucester.  email
